Brianna’s weight loss journey

If you’re a mom with baby weight to lose, Brianna’s story will motivate you to make healthy habits not only for yourself, but also as an example for your family.
Brianna gained 70 pounds with her pregnancy and her weight had escalated to 245 pounds. In August 2013, Brianna was a stay-at-home mom and found herself looking through a copy of People Magazine‘s “How They Lost 100 Pounds” issue. She found the story of a woman from the same town who had hired Jason Burgoon, owner and lead trainer of Bodies by Burgoon, as her personal trainer the year prior, and he helped her lose 130 pounds. Brianna thought, “If this gym and this man could have such a profound impact on this woman’s life and health, then maybe he can help me, too.” Brianna contacted Jason and started training with him three times a week. Most of her workouts consisted of total-body weightlifting, plyometric movements, and boxing. One year later, she lost 100 pounds. It changed her life in every way; her relationship with food and exercise. It changed the way she felt about herself. It changed the way she parented. It introduced her to competitive powerlifting, and the physical strength she found in that sport spilled over into every other area of her life. It also inspired her to become a personal trainer and nutrition coach and help others define what strong meant to them.

Brianna’s story is similar to mine as she went through almost the exact same journey as I did. If you take nothing else from this, understand that with any weight loss journey, it requires your commitment, hard work and most important of all patience. She took a year to lose 100 lbs, I took about 6 months to lose 50 lbs. Do not compare your journey to someone else’s. Our bodies are built and function differently. Take your time, be consistent, enjoy the process and be patient with yourselves!
